Name and position at the company?
Linus Schmidt, Director of Global Investor Solutions & Strategic Alliances at 1000FTAD.
How long have you been part of the team?
My first contacts with 1000FTAD began as early as 2020. Since August 2024, I have officially been part of the company in a strategic role, focusing in particular on the international expansion of investor networks and strategic partnerships.
What are your main responsibilities or areas of expertise?
My focus is on collaborating with family offices, asset managers, brokers, institutional partners, and international licensees. In doing so, I combine international project experience with strategic sales and long-term network building.
What have you done before (vocational training, college, previous positions)?
My professional background is based less on traditional career paths and more on practical international experience. After completing my business apprenticeship, I spent many years working in international procurement and large-scale projects, particularly in the energy, infrastructure, and waste management sectors. A significant portion of these projects took place in Africa and the Middle East, often involving complex financing structures and international partners.
What brought you here?
Through my international network, I was regularly asked about reliable investment solutions that work over the long term and are professionally structured.
In my discussions with Marcus and the team at 1000FTAD, it quickly became clear that this is more than just a traditional investment product. I’m impressed by the combination of technological infrastructure, a systematic approach, and international scalability.
That was the point when I said to myself: I can stand behind this with complete conviction.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
I appreciate the opportunity to play an active role in shaping the future. Developing new markets, bringing international contacts together, and seeing long-term partnerships emerge from these connections is what motivates me the most.
I find building sustainable structures far more appealing than short-term thinking.
What sets your work style apart?
My work is solution-oriented, international, and focused on the long term. For me, trust isn’t built through presentations, but through reliability, substance, and results. That’s exactly what my approach to building strategic partnerships is based on.
What motivates you at work?
I'm motivated by projects and partnerships that offer real added value. I enjoy working with people who think long-term and want to build sustainable structures.
Trust is crucial, especially in the investment sector. That is why it is important to me to advocate only for solutions that I personally fully support.
How would you describe yourself in three words?
International. Solution-oriented. Reliable.
What do you like to do in your free time?
I enjoy spending time swimming, hiking, playing golf, and playing badminton. Travel also plays a big role in my life because new perspectives and cultures broaden my view of people and markets.
Do you have a special talent or an interesting trait?
Through my time in South Africa, Turkey, and various international projects, I have learned to adapt very quickly to different cultures and business environments.
This ability is particularly helpful to me today in building international relationships.
What's your favorite quote or life motto?
"Quality prevails in the long run."
A fun fact about you?
I have lived in South Africa for a total of over eight years and have spent more time on the African continent than many of my counterparts in the financial world. This experience has greatly shaped my perspective on risk, pragmatism, and business opportunities.
