What are your main responsibilities or areas of expertise?
I am responsible for accounting, contract management, and quality management; I serve as the point of contact for customers and partners; and I handle central administrative tasks.
What have you done before (vocational training, college, previous positions)?
I have nearly 25 years of business experience under my belt—and it’s been remarkably diverse. My career path has taken me through the fields of insurance brokerage, real estate and project financing, and management consulting with a focus on startups, where I’ve consistently been responsible for business processes, human resources management, financial controlling, and sales. Over time, I also took on project and quality management—I’ve even completed training as a quality manager and auditor. I supported the companies I worked with during this time in all these areas and actively helped shape their structures.
My last—and longest—position—spanning a full 15 years—involved establishing and managing a regional sales office for an international corporation in southern Germany, as well as in Austria and Switzerland. The focus was on products in the office and industrial furnishings sector that required detailed explanation. I was responsible for the entire process, from establishing initial contact through project planning and final negotiations to providing ongoing project support.
What brought you here?
For one thing, I’ve been friends with Mr. Effland for 30 years. For another, it was the opportunity itself: helping to shape and build a company from the ground up is a chance you don’t get twice. And it just really grabbed me.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
The versatility. I can draw on my wealth of experience, combined with a fatherly calm, and still learn something new along the way. I love motivating others, but I also love being motivated myself—overcoming perceived obstacles and helping others succeed.
What sets your work style apart?
Precision in every aspect of my work—much to the occasional chagrin of my colleagues. Whenever possible, I maintain an overview of all departments, think of the company as a whole, and consistently pursue goals and plans. Corporate identity and corporate design are particularly important to me: Consistency in our public image is not a minor detail to me, but a fundamental principle.
What motivates you at work?
The goal—especially when it's ambitious. Because that's when I tell myself: We can do it.
How would you describe yourself in three words?
Flexible, spontaneous, precise—and sociable. That makes four, I know. But three just weren't enough 🙂
What do you like to do in your free time?
I love spending my free time with nice people, philosophizing about contemporary history and different cultures—and I like to spice up the conversation with my obligatory fun fact, as you’ll see below.
Do you have a special talent or an interesting trait?
I quickly grasp complex problems and just as quickly come up with concrete yet creative solutions. Brainstorming is right up my alley: developing, expanding on, and refining ideas in a short amount of time—that’s what I really enjoy.
What's your favorite quote or life motto?
I take life as it comes and enjoy it, guided by the motto “love never fails.”
A fun fact about you?
I'm known for my spontaneous wordplay and quick-witted associations—no sooner has a sentence been spoken than I already have a rhyme or an unexpected twist ready. Sometimes faster than I'd like.
