July 3 and 4, 2026, were firmly marked on the calendars of many in the financial industry. The Cashflow Conference in Frankfurt had been on the calendar for months. Flights had been booked, hotels reserved, and tickets purchased. Then the news came: The conference had been canceled. It came as a surprise to everyone involved, at short notice, and with no real alternative.
We at 1000FTAD decided not to just let these two days slip by. In no time at all, we put together our own program—not a fallback plan, but a standalone event with real substance. What started as a cancellation turned into an unexpected opportunity to bring together people who had already set aside these days in Frankfurt anyway.
"Not a contingency plan. A standalone program with substance." — Marcus Effland, CEO
The Evening at Westhafen Pier
On Saturday, July 4, 2026, starting at 2:00 p.m., we opened our doors at Westhafen Pier 1 in Frankfurt. With delicious canapés, cold drinks, and plenty of space for conversation, we welcomed partners, investors, and supporters who were just as unwilling to let a cancellation take away their time.
Also on board: Marcus Effland, CEO, and Joachim Schrader, a stock market expert specializing in stock and options strategies. Together, they led a program that deliberately focused on substance rather than spectacle.
On the agenda: Substance over glitz
Four thematic blocks shaped the afternoon:
- Fully Automated FX Systematic Strategies. How does rule-based currency trading actually work in practice? Instead of abstract theory, the session provided concrete insights into how systematic trading approaches work.
- Market Conditions, Stocks & ETFs. What’s really driving the markets right now—and which strategies work in this environment? An honest look at the current situation, without peddling forecasts that no one can keep.
- Performance Reports & Live Accounts. No glossy promises. We opened real live accounts and showed actual performance data—just as it is, with all the details.
- Networking, conversations, and inspiration. Short talks that got people thinking. Personal conversations that offered helpful insights. Exactly what makes a good conference—just without the big stage.
What Made This Day Special
What we remember most about that afternoon isn’t just the program, but the attitude behind it. Instead of letting a cancellation slow them down, our team quickly changed plans, got organized, and improvised—and turned it into something of their own that, in the end, was perhaps even more personal than a large conference could have been.
The conversations were more direct, the atmosphere more relaxed, and the exchanges more honest. Instead of navigating our way through hundreds of booths, we sat together in one place that allowed for genuine encounters.

A Thank You
We’d like to thank everyone who agreed to come on such short notice and made their way to the Westhafen Pier. This impromptu gathering showed that sometimes a disappointment can lead to exactly what you were actually looking for—just in a way you hadn’t planned.
We're already looking forward to our next get-together—whether planned or unplanned.
